I often get asked about my role as Partnership Director at Approach PR and what it involves day to day. The truth is every single day is different which I love. Whether it’s partnering with new clients, developing processes to support our ways of working with existing clients or spending valuable time developing our fantastic team, no day at Approach is ever the same.
Woken by my three year old Lily generally demanding food and Paw Patrol. It’s an early (and noisy) start to the day but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s time to leave the house, drop off at nursery and head down to the office. I am so lucky that I live really close to the office, that dreaded morning commute is usually a fifteen minute stroll through beautiful Ilkley, a great way to start the working day!
This morning I shut myself away from the team and get my head stuck in to some resource planning. We’ve had some fantastic new clients join us over the last few months. We thrive on being busy but it’s so important we continually review our team resource, ensuring that we have the right allocation of time to accounts and that the team are working on campaigns that really play to their strengths.
It’s time to head out to a new business meeting. This time it’s an interiors client, it’s my first meeting with them so I’m really looking forward to finding out more about what they’re looking for in terms of PR and social media support. I’m attending with our interiors expert Anisha, she’s wowing them with her knowledge of the KBB industry and titles!
The meeting this morning went really well, feeling positive! Now I’m hopping on to the train to Leeds to see our creative marketing partner Favoured. We’re having a working lunch and talking about a joint approach for a FinTech client that is looking for performance marketing and creative services, as well as PR and social media. It’s a great brainstorm and the room is buzzing with creative ideas.
On the train back to Ilkley I do some final preparation for my next meeting. We’re currently hiring for a Junior Account Executive, I’m interviewing a fantastic candidate this afternoon. I love meeting potential new recruits, it’s always so interesting to hear about their experience and picture how they might fit in to our team here at Approach HQ.
Thrilled to check my emails and see an update on some team training we’ve been organising. In an industry that is ever changing it’s incredibly important that we are keeping up to date with digital marketing and social media news and trends.
Nursery pick up and bath-time done, Lily is finally heading to bed. Now it’s time for my husband Rory and I to briefly converse before slumping in front of the TV to catch up on Love Island before we do it all again tomorrow.
