About Melissa Watson
Melissa is a University of Leeds journalism undergraduate and voluntarily supports the Approach team with her insightful blogs, nose for a great news story, copywriting and creative thinking. Initially interning with us during her gap year, Melissa continues to support in between her studies, working on PR and social media audits, media sell-ins and creating social media content for a variety of our clients.
Melissa’s creativity and love for writing shines through her blog posts and her talent for the written word and key learnings from BBC-based lecturers lends itself perfectly to her press release copywriting, where she combines her quirky tone of voice with the news-based components of a story which help form the headlines of the regional and trade media.
Using skills from her media A-level and the broadcast journalism techniques learned at university, Melissa volunteered her time to support our annual community extravaganza, the Ilkley Carnival, single-handedly filming and editing a promotional video for the event’s website.
