This year we’re pledging five Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments covering community, education, environment, charity and employee!
We have decided to cover all bases with our yearly commitment to make a real difference to the whole team and the community around us.
We will kick-start with pledging to go green by reducing our use of single use plastics, committing to use solely recycled paper and introducing new recycling systems.
We have chosen to dedicate our charity activity to help tackle homelessness in both Bradford and Leeds. Later this year the full team will be volunteering time and donating resources to a number of charities looking for support through Street Support, a website connecting those looking for help and those willing to help.
We will also be launching ‘Approach Employability’ to coincide with the start of the new term in September. The team will be working with local schools in a variety of activities such as career talks, workshops and business challenges and we’ve pledged to take on five placement students over the next 12 months.
We have always taken real pride in supporting and developing the PR stars of the future and some of the team are even looking forward to going back to the classroom!
We will also be offering our seventh year of free PR and social media support for Ilkley Carnival. The annual carnival has always been a huge part of the Approach calendar and it’s a project we all truly support. Not only does our work for the carnival boost the feel-good factor here in the office but it has catapulted the profile of the event and contributed hugely to the success of the cause, raising money for charities and/or organisations each year.
Employee engagement and wellbeing has always been an integral part of how Approach operates and this year as part of the fifth commitment, each member of staff has been given budget to use on events and training workshops. There will also be a host of team activities through the year.
