As the festive period is now officially upon us, ’tis the season to binge watch Chrimbo films! Whether you love howling at Home Alone or partying on the Polar Express, everyone has that special one that makes it a December to remember!

We’ve pulled together some of our favourites:

The Holiday – 7/10

It’s one for the lovers… Back in ’06 (I know – we can’t believe how long ago it was either!) this romantic roller-coaster hit the big screens featuring some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. And who doesn’t love Jude Law, eh? Including everything from house swaps to the blasting beats of Mr Brightside, this takes chick flick to a whole new level.

Love Actually – 8/10

Herd up all the A-listers, Love Actually is in town! From Liam Neeson to Hugh Grant, this movie incorporates some of the world’s most VIP actors. There’s no doubt it has that feel-good factor to give everyone some Christmas cheer. We love Richard Curtis’ way of smoothly intertwining lots of different stories, finishing off with a fantastic finale of airport antics, non-stop nativities and Christmas number ones!

The Snowman – 8.5/10

“We’re walking in the air” … This haunting chorus remind you of anything? Coming in at third place is the tantalising tale of a snowman who comes to life and takes a young boy on a magical journey across the midnight sky. This atmospheric story is sure to bring you back to your childhood and leave you feeling nostalgic.

The Grinch – 9/10

He’s big, he’s green and he’s a mean one…. Yes, it’s The Grinch! This holiday ‘whoobie whaty’ is guaranteed to get the whole family in fits of giggles. Similarly to Scrooge, The Grinch is a spectacle of sarcasm and selfishness – all until Cindy-Loo shows him the light of Christmas. Not just a crazy comedy, this flick tells a deeper tale that Christmas is more about friends and family than presents.

Elf – 10/10

Everyone’s favourite – right? Discover your inner elf as Will Ferrell takes you on a magnificent trek from the North Pole all the way to modern-day New York. A tale of friendship, family, Christmas spirit and all other obstacles along the way – this is the one to make you laugh and cry (at the same time of course!)

What is your favourite festive flick? We want to know.
